Wednesday, September 29, 2021: Hon. Edgardo Ramos of the Southern District of New York has ruled that an NYC-based architect—and Thompson & Skrabanek client—may proceed to discovery with his case against the Republic of Senegal. The architect alleges that Senegal engaged him to help locate and develop a piece of Manhattan real estate, but neglected to pay him as promised.
The Court denied Senegal's motion to dismiss the case, finding that the architect's claims were sufficiently supported by allegations that he had been "repeatedly assured by numerous Senegalese officials that he would be well-compensated for his dedication and services to the Property and to Senegal."
T&S partner J.R. Skrabanek is lead on the case.
